A study presented at EuroHeartCare 2018 showed that loneliness was associated with poor outcomes in all patients. (European Society of Cardiology. June 9, 2018; https://bit.ly/3ejGjDq.) This was regardless of the type of heart disease, even after adjusting for age, level of education, comorbidities, BMI, smoking, and alcohol intake.
